Homework: This homework section was updated July 6.
Here is the information:
Weekly Homework (Set on Thursday 6th July 2017)
Now you are in Year 5 (and less than two years away from moving to secondary school) we expect you to complete homework regularly. You will have 7 days to complete the work set, with new homework always issued on a Thursday.
Please have your reading book and reading diary with you every day.
You will need to return your homework book every Wednesday for marking - Please help your child organise themselves, as we have a large number of children who are not returning their book each Wednesday.
EVERY Thursday you will receive the following homework:
1. Read at least 4 times to another person - ideally this will be your colour banded book.
Please get your reading diary signed.
Reading at home is one of the easiest ways you can help your child succeed in school. As well as listening to them for fluency and expression, ask them questions about what is happening, and why they think that is. You can also ask them what they will happen further on in the story, or to summarise the story so far.
Children who read four times in a week will be given a weekly Reading Treat.
No other homework this week as the children have all worked very hard in Assessment week.
